Google + is said to compete big time with Facebook!!
A new social networking site by Google and is set to open at the end of this month.
As of now, registration to the site is only via invites from current members.
I was searching for a way to have an account before everybody else does since last week and finally, someone decided to give me an invite!
One thing that I really like about is that it focus mainly of effective communication and distribution of information by using your "circles". To begin with, social networking is all about communication so I think, Google+ got it.
The features they are offering right now are very limited but to tell you honestly, though the features are limited each of it is a star. Fast and Clean interface.
How's my profile look like?
Much looks like Facebook isn't it? Minus ads.
The Thumbnails at the top is actually called Scrapbook. In Facebook, it features your tag pics, while here, you will choose on what you want to display there.
Pretty same as facebook, you can post your status, upload photos and videos.
To chat with your friends, you can use 3 ways, video call, voice call or simply chat. =)
Picasa is owned also by Google, so therefore if you have a picasa account under your email, it will integrate with your Google + account. If you dont have one, then you are going to have one. I love PICASA! HAHAHA. And one more thing, the uploading of pictures in Google+ is 3 times faster than Facebook.
Circles might be the strategy of Google+. Its everywhere. This is how you can control the information you are sharing with other people.
If someone place you on their circles it will appear on how many persons have included you in their circles, but it doesnt necessarily means that you have to put them also in your circles. The thing is, if you add them to your circles they will never know on what circle did you put them.
In everything you want to share, you need to choose to whom you want it to be shared either by your circles, extended circles or public.
So its like a combination of Twitter's Following-Follower and Facebook's Group of Friends.
+1 serves like "LIKE" button but there's more....
If you are use to downloading torrents then you might actually understand my example.
In a torrent site, there are lots of fake downloads and files with viruses.
In order for you to get the right file, aside from having a lot of leechers and seeders is how the file rates.
+1 is extended to almost every website. Its like a quality verification of something.
HAHAHA. This is the HANGOUTS! =) This is where I think Facebook copy the idea of integrating video call to their own chat. But the difference is, you can do a video conference. KEWL!
You can establish your own hangout to have a conference among your specified circle or just open it publicly as it will appear on your stream.
There are other features available in Google + like the Sparks etc.
Soon, they will going to integrate games on their system and part of that is owning half of Zynga, the makers of Farmville, Empires and Allies, Mafia Wars, Texas Hold Em Poker etc.
I hope they can offer games like Godswar. So no need to download clients! HAHAHA.
Issues about Facebook are the main reasons why Google + is created.
Some are not aware but the issues are really disturbing especially with Facebook's Operations, Privacy and Security features.
I'm betting to Google. Competition is healthy!
